Suppose you hear or see something that causes you concern about a Louisburg College student’s well-being or safety, or any other person affecting the Louisburg College community and unsure how to intervene or address the situation. In that case, you should report it to Campus Safety if danger is imminent or is occurring.

The anonymous reporting form is a mechanism by which any campus community member can anonymously report criminal behavior and severe policy violations happening on or around campus.

 

Campus Safety Tips

We have one of the most beautiful campuses in America. Louisburg College is a very safe campus with property theft as one of our most reported crimes. Here are some steps to help you stay safe on campus or anywhere you are.

• Use a u-lock style bike lock looped through the front tire and around your frame.
• Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to Campus Safety.
• Register your bike through the Office of Campus Safety.
• Never leave your valuables out in the open instead, place them in a secure area to avoid crimes of opportunity.
• Register your electronic devices through the college’s Operation I.D. database.
• Always use the buddy system.
• Be an effective bystander. Do not ignore situations that seem problematic or indicate that someone is trying to take advantage of a vulnerable person.
• When walking, get your head out of your phone and be aware of your surroundings.
• Walk with a partner in well-lit areas at night.
• Close and lock your doors and windows especially ground level windows of the residence hall room, while you are asleep to help prevent burglaries and assaults.
• Avoid social events where illegal alcohol and controlled substances are present.
• All residence hall students should be conscientious about any strangers trying to enter buildings without an escort or "tailgating," entering residence halls with a group of students.
• Doors leading to living areas in residence halls remain locked 24 hours a day, and a hall resident must escort visitors in and out.  Do not prop open doors or leave rooms unlocked.
